Firecrests Wellbeing Poems 8.2.24
As part of Mental Health Week, Firecrests explored 'Sad Poem' by Joshua Seigal. They used the format to adapt a poem for their own ideas of things they can do to make them feel happy. You can see the original poem at the end of the page. Look at the gallery to see all of the lovely ideas they came up with!
Sad Poem
I’m sad
and I don’t know why.
I eat an ice cream
and I jump really high
but I’m still sad.
I chase the dog
round and round the garden.
I watch my favourite
programme on TV.
I sing very loudly,
but I’m still sad.
I smash a football
against the wall.
I splash wildly
in a bubbly bath.
I try to laugh
but I’m still sad.
I smile
I scream
I yell
I wear my Batman suit
but it’s all just
no good –
I’m sad
and I don’t know why.
