  My name is Rose McBride and I am the Year five class teacher at Benenden. I am in my 9th year of teaching now and have experience in most year groups but have spent most of my recent teaching career in upper key stage two. I graduated with a BSc in English literature and education studies at Canterbury Christ Church University. I then took a year out from studies to work as a HTLA in a local primary school before completing my PGCE in primary education. Once qualified, I began my teaching career at a three-form entry primary school in Tonbridge in Year 5. I then went on to spend the following seven years as the head of Year 6, head of geography and the curriculum leader. I am extremely excited to be working as the art and DT leader at Benenden Primary School.

  
  I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was very young and take real pride in my job. My classroom is a safe, calm, happy space where children can thrive as individuals and as a team. In my spare time, I enjoy anything outdoors or spending time with my family and friends. I particularly love kayaking, paddle boarding, body boarding and cycling. I love to travel so try to take every opportunity to pitch up somewhere new whenever I can.
