Wider Opening of Schools

Submitted by headteacher on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 - 22:09
This week, I am delighted to say that Benenden Church of England Primary School once again opened its doors to children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 in accordance with Government guidance. I know I speak not just for myself but for all the staff, every day has been an absolute joy to watch the children come into school laughing and smiling and then working alongside their teaching teams and friends, sharing their energy and enthusiasm to be able once again, "to learn at school."

I would like to share with you some comments from parents whose children are in one of the priority year groups:

"I just wanted to pass on my thanks to you, Mrs Roberts and the rest of the team who have worked hard to get the school/classroom ready for the children to come back.

XXX was getting very lonely and I was increasingly worried about the effect of the isolation on her and I’m very grateful to the school and staff for re-opening as per the Government advice.

The communication from the school has been outstanding and XXX has skipped into school both days without so much as a glance back at me!  She is so happy to see her friends (and teachers!) again.
Thanks again and I hope you’re ok, I’m sure it’s been, and continues to be, a manically busy time."

"Just a very quick note to say thank you to you and all the staff. XXX has come home buzzing. She is so happy to be back."

"I just wanted to say XXX has come out of school saying he has had the best day! So I just wanted to say thank you as he was abit unsure about coming back to school and now he's really looking forward to tomorrow."

In return, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone whether in school or still at home, for your overwhelming support and adherence of our new rules, and I am sure you will join me in thanking the staff for their continued dedication at this unprecedented time.
