We have been looking at all things maps! We have looked at what they are, what we use them for, how to use them and now we have made our very own! We made a BIG map of Benenden. We thought about what is around the village that we know of or which of us live in the village... and then we draw/made these things to go on our map!
The following week we went out and about around the village to see the places we had popped on our map and took pictures of anywhere we didn't know about.
Watch our for more progress as we go on our walk around the village to see if there is anything we miss!...
In maths we have been looking at comparing numbers. Miss Reed introduced us to her crocodile called Freddie. We then made our own to help us to compare our numbers to 10! Have a look at our great work...
In art we have been looking at colours and how they make us feel. We read the lovely story of The Colour Monster (below) and we have been thinking about what emotions we attach to what colours. Then last week we had a go at using the monsters emotions and creating collages, using different materials, of things that make us feel those emotions. See if you can spot what makes us feel...sad, loved, calm, happy, scared or angry.
Here are a few pictures from our fun, first day together!
This morning we spoke about being in Cuckoo class, we learnt about using our pegs during child initiated play, we drew some pictures and wrote some words or sentences about our favourite thing we did in the summer holidays. Then this afternoon we started with a story about a Cuckoo, we then did some AMAZING counting and finally we painted some pictures of ourselves.
